The Entomology Symposium of the Federal University of Viçosa (SIEV) is a biannual institutional event that has gained notoriety and importance on the Brazilian entomological scene with each edition. The event is organized by students from UFV's Entomology Postgraduate Programme, with the support of the programme's teaching staff, as well as the participation of other university departments and institutions.
The event aims to complement the training of professionals in the areas of agricultural sciences and biological sciences, with an emphasis on entomology.
Now in its eighth edition, the event will feature national and international contributors from the field of Entomology and the support of the Entomological Society of Brazil (SEB).

The Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) is one of the oldest higher education institutions in Brazil. It was inaugurated as the School of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences (Esav) on 28 August 1926.
