The International Symposium of Entomology
The Entomology Symposium of the Federal University of Viçosa is a biannual institutional event that has been gaining notoriety and importance in the Brazilian entomological scenario with each edition. The event is organized by students of the Graduate Program in Entomology at UFV, with the support of the faculty of the Program, and the participation of other departments and institutions of the university.

The event aims to complement the training of professionals in the areas of agricultural sciences and biological sciences, with emphasis on entomology.
Now in its seventh edition, the event will feature national and international collaborators in the field of Entomology and support from the Entomological Society of Brazil (SEB), to address and discuss the theme:

"From fundamentals to prospecting new technologies"

We will explore together the different aspects of entomology (morphology, genetics, insect resistance, ecology, behaviour, integrated pest management, biological control, semiochemicals, among others), as well as the development and application of new technologies, encouraging scientific cooperation and the debate of the challenges that permeate our area of study.
​
Thus, the event will be marked by the integrated approach of the different areas involving insects, the participation of different profiles of researchers and complementary activities, providing knowledge and expertise exchange.

VII International Symposium of Entomology will be held at the Federal University of Viçosa, Viçosa, Minas Gerais, in September 2023.

The event began in 2004, aiming to meet a demand for events on this research theme with a regional character. However, since its first edition, it was clear that the objectives could go further.
The following editions (2010, 2011 and 2013) counted with the participation of researchers from several universities and institutions, not only from the Southeast Region, but also from all over the country, making the event conquer a national and not only regional scope as it was first idealized.
In its 5th edition in 2015, the Symposium reached the category of international event, with the participation of speakers from institutions from several countries.
In its 6th edition the event once again promoted a rich environment for discussion of major topics related to Entomology.
Now in its 7th edition the International Symposium of Entomology is preparing a unique, diverse and immersive experience with the collaboration of great national and international names and for the first time with the support of the Entomological Society of Brazil.
