SOCIAL VULNERABILITY

The Organizing Committee of the VIII International Symposium on Entomology, in partnership with the Centre for Agricultural Sciences (CCA) and the Centre for Biological Sciences (CCB), announces the opening of the selection process for the participation of socially vulnerable students in the event.

1. OBJECTIVE

To select students regularly enrolled at the Federal University of Viçosa who are socioeconomically vulnerable to take part in the VIII International Symposium on Entomology, promoting inclusion and access to scientific knowledge.

2. TARGET AUDIENCE

Undergraduate students linked to the Federal University of Viçosa, belonging to courses at the Center for Agricultural Sciences and the Center for Biological Sciences in areas related to entomology and who are not registered for the VIII SIEV.

3. REGISTRATION CRITERIA

Interested parties must fill in the form by the specified deadline (see item 6) with the following data and supporting documents:

• Full name

• Proof of registratio

• NIS number (Proof issued by CAD Único)

• Proof of receipt of university aid, either total or partial (subsistence, food, housing, etc.)

• Indication of previous experience in entomology, if any (letter of indication from supervisor, participation in related projects or subjects)

• Indication of work presented at the event, if applicable (title of presentation)

4. FORM OF SUBMISSION

Information and documents must be sent using the electronic form available at the end of this tab. Completing and submitting the application form does not guarantee a place. Applications will be assessed by the Organizing Committee on the basis of the criteria set out in this notice, and the final selection will depend on an analysis of the documentation and the availability of places.

5. SELECTION CRITERIA

The number of places available is limited, so students who apply will be selected. The selection will be made by a committee made up of representatives of the VIII SIEV, based on the following criteria:

• Proof of socio-economic vulnerability

• Relevance and link to the field of Entomology

• Active participation in the event (presentation of work)

6. DEADLINES

• Registration begins: June 4, 2025

• Registration closes:  June 11, 2025

• Announcement of results: June 16, 2025

• Event:  August 23-28, 2025

7. FINAL PROVISIONS

• Omissions will be resolved by the organizing committee.

• Participation in the selection process implies full acceptance of this notice.
